It’s Nice That’s one-day conference showcases groundbreaking ideas and projects from 2011, and explores how they might shape 2012 and beyond.

Championing creativity across multiple platforms, In Progress promises an expertly curated programme of high-profile talks and insights from some of the most exciting and forward-thinking people in the creative industries.

The day kicks off with a keynote talk by luminary design figure Sir John Sorrell. In the morning session Tom Uglow creative director of Google and YouTube, Mills & Lennermo of ustwo, and Channel 4’s award-winning international editor Lindsey Hilsum will present their ideas on creativity, new trends in technology and digital innovation in their disciplines. The 10-minute forecasting talks will end the session with sneak previews of the future from publisher and writer James Bridle, The Piracy Project and Moira Sinclair, Arts Council Executive Director, London.

After lunch, we’ll be joined by Matt Jones of Berg, Tony Davidson & Kim Papworth from W+K London, and Saatchi and Saatchi creative partner Kate Stanners, reflecting on how technology and advertising can stay ahead of its game, captivate an audience and create much talked about stories. Following this, there’s more trend-briefing and insights from Contagious Magazine's Katrina Dodd, director of digital projects at the GLA Emer Coleman and SPACE gallery’s exhibitions curator Paul Pieroni.

In session three, David McCall director of Hyper Island UK, and Shane Walter co-founder of onedotzero, will tackle big ideas about the future of education, and funding for arts organisations. Finally, we’ll be in conversation with Chris Dercon, director of Tate Modern for a discussion about the arts in the UK to round off the day.
